BREAKING NEWS: KB Postpones Upcoming Single,

Today, Christian rapper KB was scheduled to drop a surprise follow-up single to his 2012 hit song, “Church Clap,” titled “Church Slap.” The original track, which was released a decade ago, is one of KB’s most popular singles, racking up over 25 million plays on Spotify and inspired countless viral dance-off videos on YouTube.

The new single, originally scheduled to release on Friday, April 1st–April Fool’s Day–as a parody joke, promised to take on woke culture growing inside of the church but after the unfortunate “slap heard ’round the world” during last weekend’s Oscars broadcast, the joke has lost its bite.

“I instantly called my manager,” shared the rapper who recently co-headlined the largest tour in Christian music, Winter Jam 2022. “I was like, WHAT!? Will Smith just straight-up assaulted Chris Rock on live TV and now our marketing plan is toast!”

NewReleaseToday obtained an early preview of a few of the lyrics from the unreleased track, and KB, like Mr. Smith before him, is not holding back. The rhythm appears to take on a similar flow as the original.

PRE-CHORUS
Time to give the church slap (church slap) (come on!)
Time to give the church slap (church slap) (come on!)
(repeat)

VERSE 1
We got these preachers a preaching and teaching repeating
All of these wolves in sheep’s clothing while members are fleeing
And the heads are all turned while we scream, “don’t offend them!”
But it’s just as offending when the Word is not given
[SLAP] COME ON!

It is time to unite all of us left behind
By a culture that constantly cultivating these lies
And remove from the pulpit the pit that despises
The truth found in Scripture that cancels surmises
[SLAP] COME ON!

When asked if he will ever release the track in the future, KB simply stated, “The church will need a solid slap here and there for the foreseeable future, but for now, this is a season for healing, and I’m here for it.”
